Welcome to my home page.
I am an associated professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Univeristy of Crte and soon to be an associated professor in the Department of Computer & Communication Engineering at the University of Thessaly, and at the same time I am trying to be a researcher in the Distributed Systems Laboratory at the Institute of Telematics and Informatics (ITI) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH).
I split my time on my three ladies, and on teaching and conducting research in the scientific areas of Numerical Analysis, Scientific Computing, Agent Computing and Mathematical Modeling. I am particular interested in applications like GRID computing, Agent Computing, Superconductivity, Environmental Modeling, Gas Turbin Engines and Underwater Acoustics.
Before coming to Volos, I have obtained my B.Sc. degree in Mathematics and my Ph.D. degree in Numerical Analysis from the Mathematics Department at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, and my M.Sc. degree in Numerical Analysis from the School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics at Brunel University. I have also spent about two decades working in the Computer Science Department at Purdue University, in the Mathematics Department at the University of Crete and in the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics and the Institute of Computer Science at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH).
